Yellowheart / Pau Amarelo (Euxylophora paraensis)

Yellowheart — known in Brazil as Pau Amarelo — is one of the most vividly coloured hardwoods available, prized for its intense, saturated yellow heartwood that is virtually unmatched in the timber world. The colour is bold and consistent, ranging from bright canary yellow to a deeper golden tone, and while it mellows slightly with age and light exposure, it retains its distinctive character far better than many other naturally coloured timbers.

It is a dense, hard and durable timber that works well with sharp hand and machine tools, takes a superb natural finish, and is highly stable in use. Its striking colour makes it a favourite for decorative work, inlay, furniture, and any application where a genuinely eye-catching hardwood is required.
