Collection: Coconut Palm

Coconut Palm Hardwood Planks

Coconut Palm (Cocos nucifera) is a unique and sustainable tropical timber harvested from mature coconut palms at the end of their fruit-bearing life. Unlike conventional hardwoods, palm wood has a distinctive speckled appearance caused by dense vascular bundles running through a lighter background, creating a truly one-of-a-kind aesthetic.

Key Characteristics

• Colour: Light golden-brown with dark speckled vascular bundles throughout
• Grain: Unique fibrous structure — no conventional grain pattern
• Hardness: Outer wood is very hard; inner wood is softer — density varies
• Workability: Moderate — sharp tools essential; finishes to a smooth, attractive surface

Common Uses

• Decorative furniture and feature panels
• Flooring and wall cladding
• Bowls, platters, and woodturning
• Sustainable interior design projects
