Carving Blanks

Our carving blanks are ideal for woodcarvers of all levels. Sourced and cut to consistent block sizes, we stock lime and jelutong — two of the most popular carving timbers — prized for their fine, even grain, ease of cutting, and excellent detail retention.

  • Lime (Tilia vulgaris) – A traditional European carving wood with a creamy white colour, tight grain, and superb workability. Ideal for fine detail work, relief carving, and figurative carving.
  • Jelutong (Dyera costulata) – A lightweight, straight-grained tropical timber with minimal figure. Exceptionally easy to carve cleanly in any direction, making it a favourite for beginners and pattern makers alike.
