English Boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) is one of the finest and most sought-after native hardwoods in Britain. Exceptionally dense and close-grained, it has been prized for centuries by turners, carvers, engravers, and instrument makers alike.

This stock originates from Staintons, a well-respected name in the timber trade, and has been slowly air-drying for a number of years — meaning it arrives in excellent condition, well-seasoned and ready to work.

At this compact size, BOX03 is an ideal candidate for a handplane knob or tote, a small turned finial, a tool handle, or any project where a short, chunky piece of premium hardwood is needed. Boxwood's exceptional density and fine grain make it a joy to work and a pleasure to finish.
