Wild Mango Pen Blank

A warm and characterful pen blank crafted from Wild Mango (Irvingia gabonensis), a West and Central African hardwood also known as Bush Mango or Dika. Wild Mango is a pleasure to turn, offering attractive warm tones, a fine even texture, and excellent finishing qualities — producing pens with a natural, earthy warmth.

Wood Characteristics

• Colour: Warm golden-yellow to light brown, often with subtle darker streaking and a pleasant natural sheen
• Grain: Fine and straight to slightly interlocked with a smooth, even texture
• Hardness: Moderately hard to hard — good durability with a comfortable, balanced feel in the hand
• Finish: Sands and polishes to a warm, attractive lustre — responds beautifully to all finishing techniques
• Workability: Turns cleanly and easily — a very rewarding and forgiving wood to work with
