Tanga Tanga Pen Blank

A handsome and characterful pen blank crafted from Tanga Tanga (Cordia alliodora), a medium-weight hardwood from Central and South America also known as Salmwood or Cypre. Tanga Tanga is well regarded by pen turners for its warm golden-brown tones, attractive grain, and pleasant workability — producing pens with a natural, classic appeal.

Wood Characteristics

• Colour: Warm golden-brown to light tan, often with subtle darker streaking and a natural sheen
• Grain: Straight to slightly interlocked with a moderately fine, even texture
• Hardness: Moderately hard — good durability with a comfortable, balanced feel in the hand
• Finish: Sands and polishes to a warm, attractive lustre; the golden tones are enhanced beautifully under a clear finish
