Wood Characteristics

• Colour: Rich reddish-brown heartwood with a warm, classic mahogany tone
• Grain: Interlocked grain, often producing a subtle ribbon or stripe figure on quartersawn faces
• Hardness: Medium density — comfortable to turn and produces a solid, quality feel in the hand
• Finish: Polishes to a smooth, lustrous finish; the warm tones deepen beautifully under a clear finish
• Workability: Turns cleanly with sharp tools — forgiving and well-suited to both beginners and experienced turners
