Sipo mahogany is a classic African hardwood with warm reddish-brown tones and a medium, interlocked grain that often produces an attractive ribbon figure on quartersawn surfaces. A close relative of genuine mahogany, it shares that same refined, elegant character — easy to work, a pleasure to turn, and a timber that rewards the maker with a beautifully smooth, rich finish. An excellent choice for both decorative bowls and functional pieces.
