Sapele Spindle Blank

Sapele is a rich reddish-brown African hardwood with an attractive interlocked grain. Depending on the cut, it can display a distinctive ribbon or striped figure that becomes especially striking once finished.

It turns well with sharp tools, holds fine detail and sands to a smooth surface. Oils and clear finishes bring out its depth of colour and natural lustre, making it a popular choice for both functional and decorative work.

Ideal for tool handles, lamp bases, candlesticks, gavels, finials, furniture components, knobs and other spindle-turned projects.
