Rippled Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus)
Sycamore is a beautiful, pale European hardwood with a fine, even grain and a naturally bright, almost white appearance that makes it one of the most striking light-toned timbers available to woodturners. When ripple figure is present, the result is exceptional — a shimmering, three-dimensional chatoyance that shifts with the light and gives every finished piece a truly individual character. No two rippled blanks are ever the same.
Sycamore turns very well, sands to a bright smooth finish, and takes oils and waxes beautifully. This blank has been selected for its ripple figure, making it a standout one-of-a-kind piece.
