Panga Panga is a close relative of Wenge and shares many of its most prized characteristics — a dark, dramatic espresso-brown to near-black colour with distinctive fine pale streaking running through the grain, giving it a bold, architectural appearance that is immediately striking. Dense, hard and very strong, it is a timber with real presence and authority, and a crook handle in Panga Panga makes a powerful statement.

It works well with sharp tools, carves cleanly and finishes to a smooth, dark surface that looks exceptional under an oil finish — the fine pale grain lines really come to life when the timber is finished, adding depth and character to the finished piece.
