London Plane (Platanus × acerifolia) — also known as Lacewood — is instantly recognisable by its spectacular ray fleck figure. Sliced on the quarter, the broad medullary rays create a bold, lace-like pattern across the surface that varies from sheet to sheet. Each piece has its own random flecking character, making every one unique.
