If you're looking for a hard-wearing, completely natural finish with no solvents and no additives, Tung Oil is the one. Also known as Chinese Wood Oil, it is derived from the seed of the nut of the tung tree and has been used as a wood finish for centuries. Pure, simple, and effective.

Tung Oil air dries to form a tough, hard film with a fairly strong amber tint — ideal for enriching the natural warmth of timber. Because it contains no solvents or driers, drying time is longer than modified oils: typically around 48 hours, though this can extend to up to a week depending on conditions. Thinner coats will always dry faster.

Application

• Apply with a brush or cloth.

• Allow adequate drying time between coats — typically 48 hours, up to a week in cool or humid conditions.
