Chestnut Melamine Lacquer – 500ml

When you need a hard-wearing, heat and water resistant, quick-drying gloss lacquer, Melamine Lacquer is the answer. Based on cellulose technology with a suspended catalyst, it combines the fast drying of a cellulose lacquer with the long-term durability of a chemically cured finish — the best of both worlds.

How It Works

While in the tin the catalyst is inert. Once applied and exposed to air, the lacquer dries within five minutes like a standard cellulose. The catalyst then activates and the lacquer chemically cures to a more durable coating over time:

• 90% of curing happens within the first 7 days — making it very hard-wearing almost immediately.
• The remaining 10% can take up to a further 2 weeks for maximum toughness — only relevant if the finish will be subjected to extremely hard use.

Application

• Can be applied by brush (foam or bristle), cloth, or spraying.
• Designed to give a full gloss finish with careful application.
• Use Cellulose Thinners to dilute if needed — especially helpful on large areas.

Enhancing the Finish

• Burnishing Cream — increases the gloss level once dry.
• Friction Polish — overcoat to increase the depth of shine.
• WoodWax 22 or Microcrystalline Wax — overcoat for a more natural, tactile feel.
