Chestnut Ebonising Lacquer – 400ml Spray

Ebonising Lacquer is a tough, hard-wearing water-based lacquer, heavily pigmented to emulate the classic satin look of ebony when dry. It's not a paint — despite the deep, rich pigmentation, it still allows the grain of the timber to show through, giving a striking ebonised effect that retains the character of the wood beneath.

Application

• Usually applied over a sanding sealer — Cellulose Sanding Sealer or Acrylic Sanding Sealer aerosol are both suitable.
• Touch dry in approximately 5 minutes.
• Hard dry after approximately 20 minutes.

Overcoating & Effects

• Liming Wax or Gilt Cream can be applied over Ebonising Lacquer for a pleasing, eye-catching artistic effect — simple to achieve, stunning results.
• For a bright gloss finish, use Burnishing Cream over the lacquer to polish it up to a high gloss.
• Acrylic Gloss Lacquer can also be applied on top for added protection and sheen.
• WoodWax 22 and Microcrystalline Wax are also compatible overcoats.
