Good finishing requires a good foundation, and Cellulose Sanding Sealer is probably the best way of providing one. Compatible with everything in the Chestnut Products range that benefits from the use of a sanding sealer — which is pretty much everything apart from oil finishes — it is superbly universal.

Why Use a Sanding Sealer?

• Seals open pores — Locks the timber surface so more of your topcoat stays on the surface, reducing the amount of finish needed and making it more economical.
• More resilient topcoats — Thinner applied coats are less likely to be damaged, so sealing first helps your topcoats be more durable.
• Binds loose fibres — Gives a more solid foundation for the next coat, improving adhesion and the longevity of the final finish.
• Easier sanding — Contains a sanding agent that acts as a lubricant, making denibbing easier. The sanding agent stands slightly proud of the surface — it is this that is removed, leaving the sealer intact beneath.
