Chestnut Bowl Blank

Sweet chestnut is a light to medium brown hardwood, similar in appearance to oak but typically lighter in weight with a slightly more open grain. It often features attractive growth rings and occasional knots, giving plenty of natural character to turned pieces. It turns well on the lathe with sharp tools and takes oils and waxes nicely, enhancing its warm tone and grain definition.
