A beautifully dark and richly figured pen blank crafted from Chacate Preto (Guibourtia conjugata), a prized Mozambican hardwood also known as African Blackwood's close cousin. Chacate Preto is highly regarded by pen turners for its deep, lustrous colouring, fine grain, and exceptional finishing qualities — producing pens of outstanding elegance and character.

Wood Characteristics

• Colour: Deep reddish-brown to near-black with darker streaking — rich, dark, and dramatic
• Grain: Fine and straight to slightly interlocked with a smooth, dense texture
• Hardness: Very hard and dense — excellent durability and a luxurious, substantial feel in the hand
• Finish: Polishes to an outstanding, almost glass-like lustre — one of the finest finishing timbers available
