Canarywood is one of the most strikingly colourful hardwoods from South America, prized for its vivid combination of yellow, orange, and red tones that swirl and blend across the grain in patterns unique to every piece. The colour is bold and warm straight from the saw, mellowing to rich golden and amber tones with age and light exposure. It is a dense, hard and durable timber with excellent strength properties, and its dramatic natural figure makes it a standout choice for decorative work.

It works well with sharp hand and machine tools and takes a superb natural finish, rewarding careful preparation with a lustrous, eye-catching surface.
