American Black Cherry (Prunus serotina)

American Black Cherry — also known as Cabinet Cherry — is one of North America’s most beloved and prestigious hardwoods. Its warm pinkish-brown to rich reddish-brown heartwood, fine and even grain, and natural lustre give it an elegance and warmth that few timbers can match. It is a timber that improves dramatically with age and light exposure, deepening to a rich, glowing amber-red that is the hallmark of fine antique furniture.

It works beautifully with both hand and machine tools, takes a superb finish, and responds to oils and waxes with a warmth and depth that only improves over time. A premium North American fruitwood of the very highest quality.
